Hereford New Year's Eve 2026: the Green Dragon party is £50, or £125 with dinner, and the Courtyard's 18+ panto starts at 6pm. No public fireworks listed yet.

New Year’s Eve 2026 falls on a Thursday. As at 24 October, Hereford has two ticketed nights out published by the people running them: the Green Dragon Hotel’s party on Broad Street and the Courtyard’s adults-only pantomime at 6pm with a party afterwards. No public New Year’s Eve fireworks display in or near the city has been listed by any organiser or council.

The quick answer

  • The Courtyard, Edgar Street: Cinderella for over-18s at 6pm, £25 to £28, with a free after-party and live music in the bar.

The Green Dragon Hotel party

The Green Dragon Hotel is holding its New Year’s Eve party on Thursday 31 December 2026, with three ticket options, all from the hotel’s own page:

The party is in the Ballroom with an eight-piece band the hotel calls Hey Yays, then a DJ “into the early hours”. Anyone who books a ticket gets a 25% discount code for a room at the hotel that night, sent with the booking confirmation.

The hotel is on Broad Street, a short walk from the cathedral and High Town.

The Courtyard panto and after-party

The Courtyard’s pantomime, Cinderella, runs to 3 January, and New Year’s Eve has two performances, both from the theatre’s own booking list read on 24 October:

  • 1pm, the ordinary family show, £22 to £28.
  • 6pm, adults only (18 and over), £25 to £28. The theatre’s note on this one reads “Happy New Year! Adult Night 18+. Includes an After Party with free Live Music in the bar after the show!”

The adult show starts at 6pm rather than the 8pm of the other adult nights, so it is over in time for the party. Neither performance was flagged “last few tickets” on 24 October. Every other date and price is on our Hereford panto page.

Is there a fireworks display in Hereford on New Year’s Eve?

Not one that anyone has announced. On 24 October we checked Herefordshire Council’s events listing, which runs into December with nothing for New Year’s Eve; Hereford City Council, whose events calendar has no 2026 entries at all; Hereford Racecourse’s calendar, whose last 2026 fixture is the Christmas Jumpers Raceday on 19 December; and the Courtyard’s programme.

Getting there and home

New Year’s Eve is a Thursday, so on-street and car park rules are the normal weekday ones; our parking in Hereford page has the charges for each council car park, including Merton Meadow for the Courtyard. Check our roadworks and travel page for any closures in the city centre before you drive in.

Transport for Wales, West Midlands Railway and Great Western Railway had not published their New Year’s Eve timetables when we checked. We will put the last trains from Hereford on our Christmas trains page once they do.
