We checked four places to buy a real Christmas tree near Hereford, from Dinmore Hill to Coddington, for 2026 dates, hours and prices. Updated November 2026.

There are four places to buy a real Christmas tree near Hereford in 2026, and this guide puts them in one place with this year’s opening dates, prices and what each one sells. The two closest are run by the same family, Colin and Davina at Dinmore Hill Christmas Trees, twice the British Christmas Tree Growers Association’s Champion Grower, with a roadside yard on the A49 and a 40,000-tree plantation at Festive Farm, Wellington. Coddington Christmas Trees near Ledbury has the lowest 2026 prices. Every entry was checked against the grower’s own website on 8 November 2026.

Stock and staffing change as December goes on, so ring before a special trip, especially in the last week before Christmas.

1. Dinmore Hill Christmas Trees, A49

Colin and Davina started selling trees from this old market garden on Dinmore Hill in 1994, and have since won the British Christmas Tree Growers Association’s Champion Grower award twice, in 2007 and 2014, with a runner-up place in 2019. Each win came with the job of supplying the tree for 10 Downing Street.

The yard sells freshly cut trees, pot-grown trees and stands; you can also choose a growing tree and have it cut, netted and carried to the car, or cut your own with a hand saw (“please NO CHAINSAWS”, the farm says). Its varieties are Norway spruce, Nordmann fir, Fraser fir, Serbian spruce and blue spruce, and it delivers tall trees.

The way in is from the lay-by on the A49 at the bottom of the hill, on the Hereford side of Queenswood Country Park. The full price list, including trees up to 12ft, is on the farm’s price list page, updated on 5 November 2026; trees over 14ft are priced on request.

2. Festive Farm, Wellington

Festive Farm is the same family’s growing site, between Wellington and Canon Pyon, and its largest, with around 40,000 trees and views towards the Malvern Hills. It opens at weekends from Saturday 7 November so you can walk the plantation and tag a tree in November, which the farm then cuts and nets for you to collect nearer Christmas.

Come in December and it will cut your chosen tree there and then. There is a display of freshly cut trees and pot-grown trees too, and the staff say they are “expert at putting large trees in (or on) small cars”.

The farm is in the village of Wellington, about four miles north of Hereford; turn off the A49 and follow its signs.

3. Coddington Christmas Trees, near Ledbury

4. Leigh Sinton Christmas Trees, near Malvern

Over the county line in Worcestershire, this family farm at Lower Interfield has grown real trees since 1948. It sells freshly cut Nordmann fir, Norway spruce and blue spruce, pot-grown trees and cut trees up to 15ft, which it nets and helps load into the car, and it has a Christmas gift shop selling lights, stands and fresh and holly wreaths.

Its home page still gave last year’s opening date, Friday 21 November 2025, on 8 November, so the 2026 date has not been announced yet.

The prices come from its fresh Christmas trees page, last changed in November 2024, so expect this year’s to be higher. It delivers only trees over 8ft, and lists £55 for delivery to Hereford.

Not in the guide this year

Festive Forestry at Brilley, near Hay-on-Wye, did not open for trees in 2025 and has posted nothing about 2026; we will add it if it reopens. Hereford Garden Centre on Kings Acre Road and Pengethley Garden Centre near Ross-on-Wye list no real trees on their websites, and Upper Munderfield Farm near Bromyard and Oakdale at Ross-on-Wye appear in tree directories with a phone number but no website we could check. We left out supermarkets, DIY stores and national firms that only deliver by courier.

Getting rid of the tree in January

St Michael’s Hospice runs a paid real-tree collection across Herefordshire each January, and the council also takes real trees at its recycling centres with the garden waste. Both are on our Christmas bin collections page, which we will update when the hospice opens its 2027 bookings.

How we chose

We looked for every farm and garden centre selling real Christmas trees within about half an hour of Hereford, then kept the ones whose own websites confirm they sell trees, with this year’s dates and prices where they have published them. Run a place that should be here, or spot something that has changed? Email newsdesk@herefordtoday.co.uk. Taken a good photograph of any of these places? Email it to newsdesk@herefordtoday.co.uk and we will add it with your name as the credit.

More for Christmas around Hereford: the Christmas market, the lights switch-on, Santa’s grottos, National Trust Christmas, Christmas shopping, Christmas dinner and ice skating, plus Christmas in Ledbury, Leominster and Ross-on-Wye. For the rest of the year, see things to do in Hereford and what’s on this month.
