The Babydust Method by Kathryn Taylor claims to be “a guide to conceiving a girl or a boy” – and Danielle swears the book helped her conceive a daughter after welcoming four boys
Danielle Lloyd welcomed a baby girl named Autumn in November 2021 and revealed that she used The Babydust Method to conceive a girl.
The 38 year old, who welcomed her fifth child and second with husband Michael O’Neill, previously described how “four boys is hard work” and so used the method to ensure her next baby was a daughter.
She and Michael share four year old son Ronnie and now Autumn, while Danielle is also mum to sons Archie, 11, Harry, 10, and George, eight, with ex-husband Jamie O’Hara.
And after the baby’s arrival last year, the elated mum of five told us: “Friday we welcomed our beautiful baby girl to complete our family.”
Danielle previously spoke about her plans to travel abroad for sex selection but she decided to try for her baby naturally due to travel restrictions in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, the mum of five turned to The Babydust Method.
WHAT IS THE BABYDUST METHOD?
The Babydust Method is “a guide to conceiving a girl or a boy”, by Kathryn Taylor, who pieced together the method in order to pre-plan the birth of her son in 2012 followed by a girl in 2014.
Danielle exclusively revealed to OK! how she followed the book “to a T”, adding: “I tried it previously and I got pregnant but I had a miscarriage. So this time I was trying for a few months and nothing happened.
“When I got the negative result I felt really upset about it and Michael said, “Come on, let’s leave trying now and do the gender selection.”
“I had come to terms with the fact that we weren’t going to try any more and then two or three days later I found out I was pregnant,” she continued.
“A psychic had told me I was going to get pregnant in March – and that I would have a little girl as well.”
Kathryn, who has a degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics from the University of California, Los Angeles, created her six-figure baby business through the release of her book in 2016 and ovulation test strips which are available on Amazon.
The method, which is believed to have a success rate as high as 94 per cent, was based on several scientific studies and uses precise timing and frequency of intercourse to naturally increase the chances of welcoming a boy or a girl.
It works by women charting their luteinising hormone twice per day and using ovulation predictor kits for three months before they want to conceive in order to recognise patterns in their cycle.
The luteinising hormone surges at around day 14 in the menstrual cycle and ovulation, which is when an egg is released from the ovary.
The two lines on the test strip should be equally dark, or darker than the control line, which indicates that the woman will ovulate 24 hours later.
For couples hoping to welcome a girl, intercourse must only happen once, two to three days before ovulation, and at no other times throughout the cycle.
However, for a boy, couples are told to have sex 24 hours after the first darkest test and again after 24 hours but at no other times during the cycle.
On the Facebook group, which has garnered 46,800 members, Kathryn states: “I have to mention, I am not a doctor, and I cannot guarantee you’ll conceive the sex of your choice. All I can do is help you better understand how to implement the method, and give you encouragement along the way.”
