Who is Steve Harris?

Steve Harris is an actor, director, writer, and producer, working in film and television. Steve was born in Washington, D.C. He studied acting at the University of South Carolina at Greenville. He’s been acting for over thirty years and is best known for his work on Desperate Housewives (2005-2011) as Gabrielle Solis’ ex-husband Ben, and playing Ethan in Tremors (1990-1994) – an iconic character that he reprised in the Tremors 4: The Legend Begins (2007).

Steve Harris – actor has appeared in numerous international projects, including numerous British television shows, including The Last Detective, The Jonathan Creek Show, National Treasure, and The Inspector Lynley Mysteries. Steve has also worked in theatre, most recently in and as part of the first UK Tour of David Williamson’s new play, The Field. He is well known as a lifelong fan of the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and this is reflected in his work. He frequently appears on screen as a vampire or a zombie or some other undead being.

Steve Harris has also been known to make appearances as characters from DC Comics, Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings, Walking Dead, Transformer Prime, Alias, Skins and The Fast and the Furious. Steve has recently starred in the Emmy Award-winning Breaking Bad as computer technician Dwight Schrute and in the Tom Cruise vehicle, American Made as Casey. He also had roles in the 2013 Ridley Scott film Exodus: Gods and Kings, and will be appearing in the forthcoming 3-D epic Darkest Hour, set in Winston Churchill’s early days as Prime Minister.

Steve Harris’s contributions in Hollywood are countless. Also, as a writer and director, Steve has been in the business for over fifteen years. His feature film debut as writer/director was titled “Pawndemonium” and starred Jerry O’Connell. His first directorial feature was “Up,” about the hard-driving dog race that became world-famous. It was released in 2009 to rave reviews and box office success.

Steve Harris actor is currently working on his own directorial effort called “Blood On the Tiles,” which is a movie centered around the Hollywood gaming industry. The cast is based primarily around showbiz friends. He has written a number of issues of KAM, featuring his superhero character Mister Destiny, and created the television pilot for a Mister Destiny-themed animated series titled Malchus.

Between acting and directing, Steve Harris teaches improvisation and worked for two years as head coach for the Pittsburgh improv team “Lip Service.” He has also been the host of Pittsburgh Public Radio’s “Open Mic for the Arts” since 2012. He also plays in a variety of theatre productions in Pittsburgh and is currently in rehearsals for “Improv, Inc.,” a performance he co-created with Darnell McPherson.

Wood Harris – Steve Harris’s Brother:

Steve Harris’s brother, Wood Harris, is also an actor, producer and director, known for playing the role of Sheriff Ed Tom Bell on “Desperate Housewives.” He also has appeared in a variety of TV shows and films, including The Dark Knight Rises, and the cult-classic horror film Suspiria. He is currently in pre-production on his own movie, Fade Away, alongside Peter Fonda and John Barrowman. He has also been a guest on the US comedy show “The Read.”

Steve Harris (Creator) – Comics & Graphic Novels

Steve Harris is also one of the writers for The Rolling Stones Comic Strip and has been a contributor to the Rolling Stones Magazine for over ten years, having also co-authored four Stones books. In 2005, Steve Harris created the comic strip “The Academy of Soul”, with writer/artist Jake Burt.

The story follows a group of black musicians taking a temporary job as a school band in order to raise the money to go to a concert in Germany. The characters are all drawn in the style of the late 1960s, while the song lyrics are a blend of today’s urban slang and historical stereotypes. The Academy of Soul has received praise and significant media attention for its culturally relevant content and subjects.

Other Achievements and Contributions:

In 2011, Steve Harris created the anti-violence “Violence Never Wins” comic book series with writer/artist Richard Corben. Based on Corben’s award-winning 1990 graphic novel “The Family Hustle,” the series is a dark and darkly satirical look at how some communities can succumb to hopelessness and violence when their leadership fails them. The series has received critical acclaim for its story and for its honest portrayal of the realities of drug addiction and poverty in inner cities.

Steve Harris is an amazing actor. In his last movie, he played the part of Franklin D. Roosevelt and was amazing. Most recently he played the part of a drug addict in “Under the Gun,” starring Zoe Saldana and Mark Wahlberg. He also has a new web series called Deep Told Tales, where he goes undercover to meet people from the “deep web” to hear their stories. The first episode is up and we think you should check it out.
